We made it through the week!

Wow, what a week. Oliver picked up Hand, Foot and Mouth but luckily didn't pass it on to anyone. Lauren is cutting two teeth on the bottom which has left her pretty cranky and wanting to be held a lot. Thank goodness for Grandma Carolyn who came over two days in a row and did lots of holding babies and playing with Enzo! Enzo developed an ear and eye infection and we discovered his ear tubes have fallen out. Now we are scrambling to get new tubes put in soon so he doesn't get another infection.

Alas, not all was bad this week. Enzo began to show a softer side. When I explained what best friends were he said Oliver and Lauren were his best friends. I'm not sure he really meant it by how he treated Oliver during the week but at least his heart was in the right place at the time.

Lauren is crawling all over and working on pulling herself up to standing. All those physical therapy appointments are really starting to work! She enjoys carrying around "puppy" that Grandpa Danny gave her and gnawing on his appendages

We decided to throw doubt into the wind and place Oliver & Lauren in the big tub together for their bath. Lauren thought Oliver was hysterical and in turn he thought it hysterical to splash her!

Enzo has been role-playing fire safety a lot and will grab your hand and announce the smoke alarms are going off and we need to stay low and go. It did make me pause during one of these practice sessions when he informed me that when you stay low and go sometimes poop come out. He even said that his bedroom smoke alarm beeps when he poops so Grandma Carolyn told him he should let Mommy & Daddy know about that!

Enzo is very clever and when I head him pulling his cooking tower through the house I knew it couldn't be good but I was trying to finish washing dishes. When I asked what he was doing he said he said he was standing on the tower so he would not touch the tv. Keep in mind he had been asked no less than 20 times that morning to please not touch the tv. At least he was following the rules :-)

At school, Enzo's teacher Miss Jenny was talking to the kids about healthy foods when one of the kids said that cookies were good. Imagine her surprise when Enzo told the class that cookies were a treat but beta carotene makes you healthy! We're still not sure where he got that one from.

Saturday came and we decided we have to get out of the house after being cooped up sick all week. On a whim, Enzo and I went to Bellevue Square to watch the Caspar Babypants concert. The first 15 minutes were great before Enzo's mood shifted and as if I could smell the storm ahead we packed up and left to go find food. I'll sum up the rest of our adventure by saying I had to throw away our meal, carry him sideways kicking and screaming "don't take me" and use all my strength to get him in the car. That was our first and hopefully last temper tantrum Sure my nose was red and swollen the next day from the kick to the face I sustained but we got out of the house right?

I ended the day productive and finished one of my Pinterest projects. I was going to do this with wood until I realized how many holes I'd have to make in the wall to hang it. Instead, I cut vinyl with my Cricut. No too bad for my first project!

Sunday was the best day of the week, it finally snowed!! The kids had fun as did Jim and I.

Enjoy your week!
