Freedom to Roam

Another busy week in the Tegeler house! Oliver & Lauren are in the process of switching to whole milk, which is apparently not up to their liking. Even more distasteful to them are the sippy cups we are trying to encourage. My legs are going to be strong from all the squatting down to pick them up!

Enzo has learned the art of negotiation and tries to draw us in at every turn. At bedtime after stories he gets really serious and asks to talk about the weather at which point he’ll try to predict what its going to be like the next day. One morning he even convinced me to go to the car wash before preschool. He loved it but I think the twins might be having nightmares about that for awhile.
Friday was really fun for the twins and me. We went to Paula’s house for a playdate with 4 other sets of twins! Talk about craziness! I learned a lot that day and even got the courage to take down the baby gates at home and let the twins explore a bit more. Now I just have to get used to having toys in the living room and fight the urge to follow everyone around picking up toys!
The weekend started off fun with a visit to the local fire station for Enzo. He loved seeing the trucks, where they dry the hoses and all the equipment. We even got quizzed on fire safety and Enzo learned “stay low and go” and “stop, drop, and roll”. You’ll notice he insisted he wear his fire engine jammies and rubber fire boots. He even wore his fire hat, which would have been fine except we had to go to Target afterwards and you can imagine the looks I got there!

Jim’s brother Steve upgraded my computer so now I have tons of room for my pictures and music! He even helped Enzo setup his new gears toy from Christmas, which I think ended up being more work than the computer. Enzo loves the toy though, so hopefully Steve thinks it was worth all the work!

Sunday came and Oliver woke up with a 103 fever and super fussy. I took him in to the doctor and she said he has red sores in his throat :-( . Poor guy isn’t sleeping well and seems uncomfortable most of the day. Hopefully this will pass soon and we can finally all be healthy at the same time!
